Causes of Electric Accidents

* The causes of electric accidents can be divided into three main categories.

  1. Technical
  2. Non-Technical
  3. Natural


Technical causes of the accident
1. Do not take down the shutdown while working on electrical lines.
2. Receiving non-formal set-down
3. Incorrect set-down
4. Fuzzing test / voltage testing is not sure about power closure.
5. Do not make temporary grounding by the right quality on the source and load side.
6. Side Connection, Dual Sources and Generators / Alternative Sources / Other Pb's
Sources, etc. and do not discharge the line capacitor during work hours.
7. Hanging down the fuse cut-out barrels to the bottom.
8. Trying to start a faulty line through ACR / OCR / breaker without fixing the line error.
9. Do not inspect and maintain line properly.
10. Feeder / equipments remain overloaded.
11. Twitched by not connecting the connector.
12. Do not record the load division / line transfer between multiple feeders / sub stations and the concerned ones are not informed.
13. Maintenance / renewal of old / corrosive lines.
14. The ACR / breaker setting is not suitable. Transformers do not use the right size fuse link.
 15. Having a loose connection and conductor redhat.

Non-Technical causes of the accident 
1. Ignorance and negligence of electricity workers and not practicing it regularly.
2. Use incorrect / short-cut methods during extra confidence and work.
3. Do not be right off-the-way.
4. Line clearance is not appropriate. Construction of houses and trees planted due to not specified distance.
5. Invalid power consumption, side connection, meter and city / PT tampering etc.
6. Use of quality goods in wiring and not wiring properly.
7. There is no knowledge of working plan and not enough knowledge about the line.
8. Work on line without being physically and mentally fit.
9. Start the job without creating a safe environment.
10. Poll numbering and system information should not be updated.
11. Do not follow the decisions of the monthly security meeting / technical seminar.
12. Ignorance of electrical safety and accidents, inattentiveness, indifference and lack of coordination.
 13. Do not follow the safety rules and do not follow the traffic laws in the vehicles.

Causes of natural accident
Natural causes can be divided into three categories-
1. Aerial Disasters
Storm, thunder, cyclone, cyclonic storm, tornado, hurricane, tidal surge
2. Earth's disasters:
Flood, river erosion, coastal erosion, landslides, soil erosion, fires.
3. Underground disasters
Earthquake and volcanic eruptions.
