Dhaka Palli Bidyut Samity-4 emerged as a rural electricity association based on the concept of "no profit, no loss" and "customers are the real owners" to create electricity supply infrastructure for the overall development of the country, for agricultural development, rural industrialization, solving the unemployment problem and increasing production. The rural electrification program is working towards rural socio-economic development by making proper use of domestic resources and making full use of the foreign assistance received. On October 31, 1977, the Rural Electrification Board was formed through an ordinance to implement the rural electrification program and gradually started its activities for electrification throughout the country. Under this program, Dhaka Palli Bidyut Samity-4 was registered as the eightieth association on September 22, 2016, and started distributing electricity commercially on October 22, 2016. Dhaka Palli Bidyut Samity-4 is playing a positive role in expanding the region's agricultural, industrial, and commercial sectors, improving the quality of life, and increasing public awareness. To make the association financially self-reliant, it is essential for all concerned to play their role in the further prosperity of the association through the proper use of electricity in all possible areas, including systematically obtaining electricity connections, paying regular electricity bills of all the respected customers who have been connected, helping to prevent transformer theft and assisting in the daily work of the association.
